Wasted efforts!
Damn, my 3-4 months of effort went down the drain, along with any hopes of getting into IIMs
Yes, I’m a loser!! I have not been able to crack CAT for the third time.
It would have been better if it was my mistake, but to be dumped out due to error at IIMs end is extremely disappointing and heart-breaking.
Got an overall percentile of 96.40%, with 99% in Verbal section, 98% in Data Interpretation, and shocking 37% in Quant.
37% means I got a score of just 1.66 marks. I simply can’t beleive that this can happen. This is impossible. I had attempted about 15 questions in quant, and was sure to get atleast 12-13 of them right. But, I guess there has been some problem at the IIMs side in scanning my OMR answering sheet. Or, maybe I had filled the bubbles incorrectly. But, I feel the first one is more probable, simply ‘coz the IIMs even scanned my Date of Birth incorrectly from my application form. I have a photocopy of the application form. There I had entered my DOB as 14 / 1 / 1982. But according to IIMs I had entered 14/11/1982. WTF?
Those 10 marks in quant could have even got me all the calls. But, I believe, that God is not with me at the moment. He doesn’t wants me to be in the career I want. Frustrated, disappointed, shocked… I don’t know whether I can gather enough motivation to try again next year. I have lost faith in the system. Really, these guys don’t even allow to get your scores rechecked.
My friends asked me to consider sending mails to directors of all IIMs. But, I feel it would be a waste. Don’t think that they would take any pains to even read my email properly.
Thanks to the IIMs…. I am now out of the race.

Aaaww Manpreete..that’s too bad yaar.
Par I think if you really think that it was the fault of the IIMs, you should fight it. I know here in the USA if you feel that there was a discrepency in scoring on a exam like CAT, then they provide you information where you are able to dispute that…aaisa kuch nahi hai kya?
Bhagwaan jo karta hai aache ke liye karta hai. Isliya socho ke Bhagwaan ne tere liye kuch IIM se bhi better hi socha hoga.
Don’t be down and don’t worry. Par if you can take some steps of action against them…to see if they can rescore your sheet..then that would be great.
Best of luck dost!

Hi… I can guess how you feel. You can-for you have all to gain - dash a letter off to the IIMs. It might get you nothing, but it might catch somebody’s attn … u never know.
Best wishes

[Poonam] No, IIMs doesn’t entertain rechecking/rescoring requests. Really pathetic attitude. They feel that OMR machines can’t be wrong.
[Supervish] Yes, I am drafting a letter. Will be sending it to concerned authorities plus will also write a letter to editors of all leading newspapers in India. This is all what I can do. Rest depends on the almighty (if he still cares for me)
