Today’s meaningless crap…
After a gap of 3 months, I finally got a project to work on. Yesterday, had a long teleconference with the client. Infact, yes’day was my longest day in office. Reached home at around 11pm. Had a quick dinner at China Gate. Thank Gawd, this is not Bangalore. In Bangalore, the restaurant used to close down by 10-10.30pm. Here they are open till midnight.
Ok, coming back to the topic, the project I’m talking about is for a US based wireless carrier. As a developer, I will be working on .NET, XML, device drivers, TCP/IP and some blah blah blah, which I don’t remember right now. Overall it sounds interesting, except for the deadlines. They have given us just 4 months to design, develop and implement the solution. And, to do that within that timeframe, we guys will have to slog our @#@#@ atleast 13-14 hours a day. But there are lot of positives - (1) There might be chance to work onsite (2)
Will add to my experience (3) Bench blues will be over :p
Waise, the last week was really tough for me. I was really depressed after the CAT fiasco. I couldn’t lived upto my own expectations. But, it taught me that life is not always fair. One has to forget the past, and should enjoy the present. Jo ho gaya, so ho gaya. Nothing can be done now. Thanks to my friends and roomies, who helped me to cope up with this phase of my life. 6 months ago, I hardly knew these guys. But, now I feel, I can’t live without them. Someone has rightly said, “Friend in need is a friend indeed”.
To keep myself on track, I’ve been trying to get myself busy in work, movies & masti. Don’t want to think about the past at all. Just want to get that shit out of my head.
For tomorrow night, the new year eve, we guys have planned to go to some disc. But the major problem is that no disc in Pune is allowing stag entry. Only couples, they say. And in our group, we are 8 handsome young men, and just 4 gals. Phew…!!! So, you see we are facing a sex ratio crunch. As of now, it is 4:9 i.e. 1:2.25!!!!
One of us, then gave us this brilliant idea - 2 of the young and handsome men should wear a burkha tomorrow night. Hahaha..!! That will solve our problem and will make the ratio 6:6. LOL
In the end, I know, we will be celebrating the New Year at home itself, with plenty of booze & good music to accompany us. Please pray to God to give strength to our LandLord, so that he & his family stay afloat even after this planned Toofani Party
Wishing you all a very Happy New Year. Hope all your dreams come true, and may God bless you all.
See you in the New Year,
Cheers,
Manpreet

[Ankur];) LOL
On the serious note, can you take a person to the court just because he/she is tracking you on the net for some wrong purpose?
Manpreet / December 31st, 2004, 3:27 pm / #
It means intruding into privacy of a person. In some cases it has been decided that ‘Right to Privacy’ is covered under Article 21 of Constitution of India, which provides for ‘Right to Life’ as Fundamental Right.
(One case was recording Telephonic conversation but as it was done by Police, so was exempted as in Public interest)
And in case… any of your Fundamental Right guaranteed under constitution is violated, a citizen has a right to move directly to Supreme Court or High Court under Article 32 or 226 respectively.
Read more about Article 32 & 226 here:
http://www.hrcr.org/safrica/access_courts/India/India.html
Otherwise also in case such an action results in any harm or torts like Defamation, Nuisance, etc. are commited against you then ofcourse you can move to the District court of competent jurisdcition.
But you need to have sufficient evidence against the other person!
After IT Act, 2000, all the electronic documents are admissible in evidence that includes emails, websites, etc.

[Ankur] You got mail!
Manpreet / December 31st, 2004, 5:11 pm / #
Got it and replied!
To add upon the above, if the privacy has been intruded electronically like Hacking into Computer and data has been accessed or copied without permission, then Sec 43 of IT Act, 2000 comes into play and the person can be penalized upto Rs 1 Crore!
Ankur Raheja / December 31st, 2004, 5:30 pm / #
1 crore!!! That’s some harsh punishment..
As you told me, I phoned that guy and gave him a warning… It seemed that the poor soul was little terrified after he came to know that mujhe sab pata chal gaya hai!
Thanks Ankur for the guidance!!
Manpreet / January 3rd, 2005, 10:11 am / #
Anytime!
Ya, Rs 1 crore is really too high.
But it’s the Law Of The Land
Ankur Raheja / January 3rd, 2005, 6:10 pm / #
I wonder who can pay 1 crore… it could have been 20 lacs at max.. but 1 crore is too much..
Manpreet / January 4th, 2005, 10:11 am / #
The section uses the word ‘upto’, so the penalty is always decided based on the damage caused and sometime the financial capacity of the defaulter is also taken into account.
And Rs 1 Crore is the max. Which is justifiable in some cases like, in case any person hacks into Call center’s database and tampers with it. In such a case, ofcourse huge loss will be caused to the Call Center.
