Bullah ke jaane… Main kaun!!
My Latest Crush
Bulla ke jaane, mein kaun… I love this song. Be it home, office or travelling, for the past few days, I have been listening this great number from Rabbi Shergill almost continously ![]()
This song is simply memerising. Its earthy feel takes me in its flow. Baba Bulleh Shah is one of the greatest sufi poets of his times. Rabbi Shergill has done enough justice to the song by singing it just as well as the lyrics. Kudos to hime!

Weekend
BTW, I again went to Mumbai this weekend. Hehe, yes yet another time. Looks like Mumbai is becoming my 3rd home (1st being Delhi & 2nd Pune). Went to InOrbits Mall at Malad. Heard that its the biggest mall in Asia. It’s really very huge… we strolled around in the mall for about 3 hours. Bought a shirt, trousers, some CDs etc. Even played video games
They were so much fun!! Reminded me of my school days.. hehe
Also, managed to visit the famous Band Stand.. Being a holiday, it was very crowded.. and yes, very very filthy (like most other places in Bombay)
Also, by chance met Anil a.k.a. Maverick on PagalGuy.com forums. Actually, I was waiting for the train on Marine Lines station, and Anil somehow recognized me (must have seen my pix through this blog). We chatted for about 10 mins, before I boarded the train.
Came back to Pune last night at around 1.30am (or maybe i should call it today morning.. :-))… slept at around 3.30am… and then woke up at 7..huh!! Result: I am barely able to keep my eyes open in office today..!! Zzzzz..!!
Lyrics (Punjabi):
Ne maen aadam havva jaaya Na maen apna naam dharaaya
Avval aakhir aap nu jaana Na koi dooja hor pehchaana Maethon hor na koi siyaana
Bulla! shah khadda hai kaun
English Bulleh:

Wonderful song. I bought the album and took it with me to Japan. This album turned out to be my only source of entertainment as the only english channel the hotel had was BBC. Got curious about Bulleh Shah and hit upon this website: http://www.apnaorg.com/poetry/bullahn/Untitled/untitled2.html
Last few paragraphs have a wonderful interpretation of Bulleh Shah’s kafi which has been rendered in right tone by Rabbi. Enjoy!!!

PS - Rabbi is also quite handsome to boot! He seems to remind me of Beatle George harrison in his writings and style. This man is truly a revolutionary.
BTW - Manpreet, i got to see your gallery….what a terrif gallery you have!
peace, pattie
