Citibank Sucks!

Today I got a mail from Citibank, that I have to pay them about 1850 bucks as Credit Card charges. The funny thing is that I don’t have a Citibank credit card. So, I called up the citibank customer care, & told them about this incident. The lady at the other end said that the credit card is still with them. The address mentioned in their system was wrong, so they couldn’t dispatch it. I told here that if I haven’t applied for a CC, how can they make one in my name. And, why should i pay these charges. She replied that I need to talk to thier accounts department, and send a letter in writing that I didn’t applied for any credit card.

I will send the letter to concerned person, but what puzzles me is that don’t these banks check the authencity of the applications? Also, if the credit card has not been dispatched, what are these charges for?

I already have 3 credit cards, and really don’t need another one. Dunno where do these chaps get information from? Sick people!

that is really crazy. Neeraj has been having a lot of problems with citibank as well…he had gone in to make a payment and they had to verify that it was him that was making the payment on his account. They asked for his address and he thought that it was Goregaon address because he has had the account prior to moving to Powai. The lady says that the verification failed and that he can’t make a payment and to call such and such people. So Neeraj said that he didn’t have time for that and left. Funny how they didn’t do ANYTHING to take his money..

[Poonam] For making a payment, they need verification??? Crazy ppl. Here they are sending emails, making phone calls…etc..etc to get payment which they shouldn’t get at all!

Yes ..so weird. But its funny what they are doing to you…very similar to what Reliance Mobile was doing with sending a bill to people who didn’t even have their services.. It happens only in India.

[Poonam] Aren’t americans human? ;)

[Sushubh] Yup, ICICI is good! I have a mastercard from ICICI, and the service is really good.

[Ankur] Leaking of databases!! I didn’t watched it. What did they show?

Manpreet / February 21st, 2005, 10:03 am / #

The name of the programme: “Uncovered”. They made a secret deal with a Database seller and recorded everything through a SPY camera. And they showed what kind of Info Database included….

I will take up this topic in my next post regarding Private Banks…

Citibank really Sucks. I really had very bad experience with citibank USA.I had to shout at the ciitbank officer at the bank as the guy who’s was attending me did’nt know what he was doing. I really want to know if there is any place in the US where I can complain about a very very bad customer experience. These guys are just there to loot people

I too hate Citibank USA. Don’t fall for their lies about rewards programs, chances are you will never see any reward (although they will keep lying about how you will if you just do this, or that). The rewards programs are just scams so they can charges you bogus late fees and APR’s of 29 percent.

Mike here is a link of all the places you can report them too:
