Almost Free Airlines!!

Had a ball today!! Today morning, when I came to office, I saw a email from a friend telling me about the launch of a new airline in the Indian skies - SpiceJet. The special thing about this airline are its tickets prices. You can get a ticket for Bombay-Delhi sector for as low as Rs 320 (exclusive of taxes). Whew!!

And, intelligent guy in me, took the oppurtunity, and booked 9 Delhi-Bombay air tickets for just Rs. 4120!! That’s dirt cheap, when you compare that with other airlines which offer a single one way ticket for about the same price (and that too under apex scheme)!! Currently, SpiceJet is focussing only on North-West India i.e. Delhi, Bombay, Ahemedabad, Pune etc. But, later on they have plans to expand to the whole country. Cool na?

very cool! Thanks for letting us know. :smile: I called Neeraj and told him about it. The net is down at his office so he can’t check it out…but its odd that the Pune flight goes directly to Delhi..but the Mumbai one goes through Ahmedabad. We will see if Neeraj wants to use this route..becuz his end destination needs to be Lucknow. :smile: Thanks again!

[Poonam] Yeah.. its awsome!! 320 is nothing, when you see that even a Sleeper class train tickets costs more than that!! Ya, its little odd that Pune has a direct flight whereas Mumbai flights have a stopover at Ahemdabad. Dunno why? But, who cares, if one can get tickets for that amount of money! An extra hour on flight won’t hurt!! :)

BTW, Neeraj ko ticket mili kya?

[Govind] LOL.. ya 320 is nothing.. and yes, i was able to book tickets for the dates I wanted ‘coz I came to know about the site earlier than most of the other people.. result.. the cheapest tickets were still available!! Maybe you can check out their website.. and find out the current prices!!

[Mannat] Hahaha… even I was thinking that if its so cheap.. I can even fly to Delhi every weekend and have fun out there!! LOLs… but one thing is sure.. it won’t be easy now to get these tickets ‘coz whole of India knows about it now!! :p

Lately, budget airplanes are expanding everywhere … More budget airplanes, it’s good for all of us the customers. They competes each others to give the best and cheapest prices to the customers :) Hmmm next time when I come to India, I don’t need to take a car anymore to go from one city to another city … I can take SpiceJet :D yeyyy :D

Well I tried looking for a ticket online…but all of them are over Rs 2,000:sad: Are there any particular dates/days u could fly on to get the lower fares?
Poonam ya, I am sure they won’t stay cheap for that long…the rule of supply & demand will soon screw this up…or already has :grin:

ya it sucks..i told neeraj he should have bought his tickets yesterday…but he waited becuz he hadn’t talked to his travel agent..

and now all of the tickets are gone up.. :sad: instaed of spending 1600 ..we are now going to have to spend 5000. :shock:
