Quick trip to Pune & Sinhgarh
Yes! I finally bunked a class.
Actually, we had a class on early Sunday morning. But, then one of my friends called me up and asked to visit Pune. Now, who will attend a boring class that too on a early weekend morning, when you have an option to have a gala time with friends. And, add to that, it had been quite a while, since i ventured even outside the campus’s main gate.
So, after the Saturday evening lecture, I took a train from Kanjur Marg to Dadar, and then from there caught a bus for Pune. It was almost 1.30-2 am when I reached there. Next morning, we somehow managed to wake up and get ready by 7.30am. The plan was to depart for Sinhgarh Fort at 6am. But…. we were late by just 1.5 hours
BTW, it was fun riding on bikes all the way to Sinhgarh which is about 40-50kms from Pune. The Sinhgarh fort, built by Shivaji, is famous for its wind point. I have heard that sometimes the speed of wind blowing is so high, that its difficult to even stand over there. But, that day it was too hot, and almost no breeze was blowing. Even the fort is badly maintained. Actually, people say that the best time to visit the place is during monsoons, when the clouds are very low. This place is famous among the trekking enthusiasts.
Anyways, we did had a lot of fun, specially riding around the hilly areas on bikes. And, most importantly, meeting friends after a long time is always a cherishable moment.

Mannat: Yeah, absolutely… bunking a class and then going all the way to pune was surely fun.. total dhamaal!!
No, its not the place where DCH shooting took place. That happened in Augura Fort in Goa. Rem’ber that scene, where all three of them are sitting on a wall with their backs facing the screen and drawing an analogy between an away going ship and their life?

Govind: Yes, its looks a lot like the one in DCH. There are plenty of old forts around Pune/Bombay like these. Should visit them once. Specially during the monsoon season. Awesome places!!
