Earlier this evening, I was talking to nephew over the phone:
(Like me, he loves gizmos too, be it mobile phones, TV remotes, car remotes, discman - and that too the actual real ones, not the cheap copies sold as toys in the market. And, moreover, ek phone se kaam banta hota to kya baat thi, he likes having mobile phones in both hands. LOL)

Me: Hello Gurjyot
He: (shouting at my sis to give the phone in his hand - he doesn’t likes somebody else holding phone for him)

Me: Arre boss…. Maa’Moooooo bol
He: Maaaku (still laughing)

This is a typical conversation we have over the phone almost everyday. And moreover, this has been going on for the last 2-3 months. My sis says that mere pe gaya, kaam ki batien der se hi samajh aati hain isko =) Very true =)

Continuing the conversation…

Me: Ok.. say chocolate
He: Choklit

He loves listening to rhymes. There’s one where the last line goes like this
Me: Gurjyot ki gaddi…….
He: …. aayi hai =)

Me: Gurjyot kya hai?
He: Dirty hai… =)

Me: Ok.. now say MaaaaMuuuu
He: MaaaKooo =(

Me: Yaar.. kab sikhega.. say maamu
He: maaku

Me: MAAAMUUU!!!
He: Maaku

And, then out of the blue… I heard him saying ‘Maaaamu’.

Yippie! =)))

Finally! Operation has been accomplished!! =) I didn’t asked him to repeat it.. kahin phir ‘Maaku’ na ban jayoon =)

It took me about 2-3 months and god knows how many minutes of airtime to train him to say Maamoo properly! LOL. Looks like, he was testing my patience - aajkal ke bache, tauba-tauba!! =)

But, one thing he has learned very quickly… he has a habbit of adding ‘Dirty‘ in front of everybody’s name =)

So, as a result:
Papa dirty
Naanu dirty
Mummy dirty
Dadu dirty
Gurjyot dirty
and now ‘Mamu bhi dirty’ =)

O Boy, I love it =))
