Winters, Exam & Cricket

3.5 degrees. Yes, that’s quite a contrast compared to the 25-26 degree celcius minimum tempearatures in Bombay.

This time, December has been unusually cold in Delhi. Heard that, these are the lowest temperatures recorded in the city in the last 5-6 years. Whoa!

But, I’m not complaining. Actually, I love the winters - the mist in the air - the smell of roasted peanuts - piping hot samosas - the cold biting wind - the dew drops on the window panes - hot cups of coffee & tea! LOL. I can go on & on describing the winters =)

BTW, time flies fast, when you are at home. ‘Do weeks kahan gaye, pata bhi nahin chale’. First, took the APICS exam - without any serious preparation. Now lets see, kya result aata hai.

Then, there was this test match going on between India & Lanka at Feroz Shah Kotla stadium. How could I miss that? Luckily, I somehow got hold of couple of passes for pavillion stand. Was fortunate to watch Sachin’s, Kumble’s & Pathan’s heriocs. It was great fun!

But, even I’m shocked with the way BCCI has treated Saurav Ganguly. I know, his performance doesn’t justifies his selection in the team, but is the way you give farewell to your heros? Is this how you treat a person who has helped India win so many test matches? Is this the way you should give respect to a person who led India to World Cup finals? All I can say that, Ganguly has been a victim of politics between Pawar and Dalmiya. I seriously hope that sense prevails and he should be given a better farewell. He deserves atleast this!

Huh, me first??? Long time!
3.5 degrees C…that is like hot wave. Temps here have been in one digit (Fahrenheit). But I hate winters…I think winters r totally depressing (especially here in US). With the snow and such low temps, u just don’t feel like doing anything (but of course u still have to).
I totally agree with you on the way everyone behaved with Ganguly. He was after all the captain of Indian team and had been in the team for yrs. No performance or act of his was bad enough to justify such farewell to him. He definitely deserved respected & dignified treatment.

Ganguly should be back in the team for sure.
Wasim Jaffer, Ganguly’s replacement, has never played at international level for over 3 years. Seems he has
Mr Pawar’s approach ;)

hmm.. great u got to watch sachin make history?? lucky u!!!
As for Ganguly’s controversy, i jus have one thing to say.. he shouldn’t have been taken in the test series itself if he were to be dumped midway like this even after performing well.. tooooooo bad..
