Random Ramblings!
- Yesterday saw ‘You got Mail’ for the second time. Lovely movie. Meg Ryan rocks!
- Talking about Meg Ryan, I loved her acting in ‘When Harry Met Sally’ as well.
- Also saw ‘Cellular’, ‘The Long Kiss Goodnight’, ‘Crash’, ‘Taxi 9211′, ‘Shikhar’ over the last few days.
- Except for Shikhar, liked ‘em all
- And, yes believe me or not - I watched Black just a day before.
- Thats too because I just wanted to check out, why this Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s product is getting so much appreciation.
- Must say I wasn’t dissapointed at all. Its an excellent movie, very well made, with awesome performances by Rani, Big B, and Ayesha.
- Yesterday, it rained over here. Mumbai indeed gets a different feel to it when the skies open up.
- Reminded me of Pune’s weather. Yes, I still miss the city.
- BTW, I will be going to Bangalore during the months of May and June for my summer training.
- So, all you folks from Bangalore - be prepared to treat your guest
- Will be coming there after 23 months exactly.
- BTW, I always keep wondering, that how can anybody on this earth like a maha-boring subject like Finance!!
- I find HR/OB interesting - maybe ‘coz they require minimum effort and application
- While I was in Delhi, visited Noida’s latest disc - ‘Elevate’. Awesome music, awesome crowd, awesome ambience.
- So, when in Delhi - do check it out!
- BTW, has anybody tried pizzas at Smokin Joes? If no, please don’t do it - coz they are horrible, and they suck!!
- Pizza Hut or maybe even Dominoes is so much better.
- Bombay and Delhi airports suck as well! Long queues, not many adequate places to sit, poor management.
- I wonder when will the authorities care to take notice!!
- And, then there is baap of all airlines - Air Deccan - or maybe I should call it Air Dhakkan instead!
- I travelled on it for the 2nd time - and for the 2nd time it got late.
- Moreover, the staff is so unhelpful and their systems are always down - a really pathetic airline.
- Since that day there systems weren’t working, they couldn’t verify our PNR numbers. But, still they allowed to enter the aircraft.
- I can bet that they could have allowed a person to travel even if he was without any ticket. Yes yes, their security check is so bad!!
- BTW, last year I was in Goa around the same time. Whew, I’m feeling nostalgic! We had awesome fun there during the holi season.
- Lets see how this year’s Holi goes!!
- How are you guys celebrating Holi?

Lots of things on your mind haaan? I LOVE you’ve got mail…and HMS is an awesome movie too…and what were you doing watching so many movies in one day…I do want to watch Crash. I hear praises about it EVERYWHERE…lets see if I get a chance to watch!
Air Dhakkan is SO TRUE! I flew Air Dhakkan from Mumbai to Blore last August, and it was so funny to my little quasi-ummrican soul! I entered the plane and showed the air hostess my ticket and the seat # was 26 E or something. Turns out, there were a bunch of guys sitting in row #26 - clearly not in their assigned seat numbers, so she looks at them and then at me and says “ma’am you can have any of those seats at the back”
and I was like WTF?!!?!?!? Then something even more funnier happened: they were serving refreshments and I asked for water, she handed it to me and said “10rs ma’am” Now 10 rs is not a large amount but I was shocked! I thought refreshments were included?!?! Atleast WATER would be included. Sigh. OK sorry I had to rant about that..take it off me! haha
Am doing nothing for Holi this year. Holi without B is no Holi

Ok I have got LOTS to say.
Good movie with Meg Ryan.
I have not seen ANY of the other movies, including Black on your list.
The weather here has been pretty bad.. cold..hot..cold…hot.. today it was finally nice.
I think I tried Smokin’ Joes when we were in Surat. It was not good. Pizza Hut is better than Dominos. But the best place for pizza in Mumbai is New Yorkers!
Yummy!!
Airports suck everywhere — wait till you see Chicago O’hare…you are guaranteed to be delayed.
So you are going to be in Bangalore — that means that you and Prasad can travel together to Jaipur for our wedding.
How wonderful that works out.
We have been talking back and forth abt. domestic airlines. I can’t believe that they make such a difference in the rate for foreigners and indians. I will remember not to travel on Air Deccan — especially after Kaush’s story.
Our Goa trip has been cancelled.. the quote for the ticket was quite pricy — maybe I will have to check again. I think we are going to travel around Mumbai, Lonavala, Khandala, Ajanta Ellora with my American friends. What do you think abt. that?
Holi — we are celebrating at the mandir as always. First time Neeraj and I will be together for Holi.

Kaush: The term has just started.. as a result not too much academic pressures yet. So, what better way to kill time then to watch movies. right?
You must watch Crash… very good movie.. with really nice performances by Sandra Bullock and others.
Whoo… so i’m not the only one who had a bad experience with Air Dhakkan!! Even I don’t know why they can’t even serve water free of cost… and add to that.. they charge exhorbitant amounts for whatever they sell.. i bought juice for 25 bucks.. whereas it was clearly mentioned on the box that its MRP is just Rs. 10!! Agreed they are selling this in a aircraft.. but law clearly states that they can not charge above MRP!!

Prasad: Bangalore - Bestest City of India.. LOL
Puhleez I already have enough of inter-city fights
:P
Dominoes is OK.. not that bad.. somehow I like their pizzas. But, smokin joes.. less I say about them.. the better is it!!
Ankur: You scared of Holi kya? Lucky you… if I would have been in Delhi this time of the year.. I wouldn’t had spared you
:P

Poonam: You haven’t seen Black??? And I thought that I am the last person to watch Black
Where is New Yorkers? Haven’t ever heard of it…
Whoo.. so the conditions of airports is same in US of A..?? I can’t believe it.
Yeah.. yeah.. I will be comin straight from Bangalore for your wedding. Prasad ko bhi pakad ke le aayonga
Even I was wondering, why do these airlines charge so much to non-indians? The difference is huge.. !! Same ticket which costs about 3000 to an Indian is charged at about Rs 5000 to a non-Indian!!
BTW, Ajanta/Ellora is a nice place.. have been there.. your friends will love it. Khandala/Lonavala.. IMO are worth visiting only during monsoons.. it will be too hot during April/May I guess. BTW, you are not taking your friends around Rajasthan?
Holi with Neeraj.. Sahi hai!! Enjoy and have fun
Manpreet / March 11th, 2006, 1:36 pm / #
Great to hear about you bringing along Prasad to the wedding!
Yup they will spend two days in Jaipur to travel and see there. We have to go to the Taj Mahal on the 20th of May because two friends are leaving on the 21st. So then there is no point of going back to Rajasthan from Delhi — the number of flights going to Jodhpur or Udaipur are less frequent than to Goa or Bombay. Plus its going to VERY hot in Rajasthan.
Why isn’t Lonavala and Khandala as fun in April/May — other than the fact of the weather? There is still plenty to see right?
Poonam / March 12th, 2006, 10:53 pm / #
Poonam: Yeah, its gonna be very hot in Rajasthan at that point of time. But, I guess it will be hot everywhere as well.
Lonavala & Khandala are famous for their weather during monsoons. Apart from that, there are plenty of waterfalls, beautful locales etc to see. Yes, you can go there during summer, but IMO they are not half as fun as during monsoons.
