Why doesn’t India fights back?

It’s been 3 days since sun showed his face in Delhi. And with rain god in a good mood, the weather over here has become quite pleasant. No more scorching heat :) :)

And, yes, look at Mumbai - for the past 10-15 days, the city is going through hell. First, the rains. Then, the shiv sainiks. And, now the blasts. Dunno, why do people kill innocents? In my opinion, what ever is the cause, it can not justify killing/bombing people who were just going through their daily tasks. Cowardly act! Long time India maintains status quo. Why can’t India (like the Americans after 9/11) go after the killers? Americans defied the world opinion, and went to war with the Afghans and the Iraqi’s. They put their security plans in place. And, the result is there has been no terrorist attack on them after the NY diaster. Indian politicians don’t have the balls to kick out these insane minds out of the country. They are so busy keeping their vote banks intact! Such a disgrace!

Look at BJP - rather the condoning the incident and helping the victims & their families, they started playing the politics by giving out statements against the Congress government. This is not the time to make political gains. This is the time to stand by Mumbaikars!

I happened to visit a Pakistani forum - PakistaniDefenceForum.com. The site is full of hatred against India. Just have a peek at what these people think about the Mumbai blasts. I was really appalled by reading the comments over there. What do you think?

It’s really sad about the blasts … I was watching CNN and shocked by the Mumbai blasts news. I don’t understand either why they kill innocent people …

Its high time India take a stand for itself. Enough is enough! Terrorism has been going on for so long now… it used to be Kashmir, Punjab, but now it has spread every where. India should have taken care of Pakistan in 1999 after Operation Vijay in Kargil. India should go on the offence now, and throw away the worn out diplomacy route it has been following for years!

Here’s my thoughts:

I don’t think its fair to India that it is compared to the US in this matter. Would the US have taken the chance it did to instigate a war with Afghanistan and Iraq if it was not a super-power?? I don’t think so — and that’s why its just not the right time for India to take that type of action. I am not saying that Pakistan would destroy India, but the bright future that India has will be just an afterthought.

India has to take some type of action, but that may be to make themselves more secure or be more aware through intelligence affairs of such acts that might happen. If you remember there were bombs found previously in Mumbai around four-six months ago in the local train. At that time the police were able to get the info and were able to pull the plug so that the bombs didn’t blast. I am not sure what happened this time, but that means that intelligence affairs are capable of getting these types of information.

Overall, I just don’t think that India is at the place where the US were during 9/11 to take such a step.

This time, looks like the PM has gotten serious about the whole issue. He is even going for the G8 Summit and will present his report. I think India has been bouncing back everytime, but its high time, when we pull our socks and Zero In on the culprits.

Mumbai par toh lagta hain shaani chal raha hai.

I don’t think India is in a postion to fight back at this time. I am not saying that it should just sit back and do nothing about this horrific act, but attacking another country is not an option for India. First of all India won’t get all the support like US did. But more importantly, although US did fight back, I don’t think it has done any good to the country. Most of the people in the country still live in fear. It has affected their normal lives. Plus so many innocent lives are being taken in Iraq. This fight is not againts the regular people. This fight is against terrorism. But who is being affected the most by it?? Ofcourse the normal citizens. Terrorists are still doing what they want to do. So going on war is not an answer. India needs to make its land more secure. Tighten the security on borders and in places that are susceptible to such attacks. India needs to devote more resources to such things.

we know the exact cordinates of their training centers, we know how they do it, we know who all are involved, we know who funded them and we still still on our asses and claim to have the best arms and ammunition in the backyard when we can’t use it at all! America destroyed the very birthplace of another terror plan on it’s home, millions of miles away and bombed Afghnistan and Iraq. We can still act calm to the dirty POK!

The Israel model for India?

A lot has been said in the popular press over the past couple of weeks about how India should do an Israel and follow the policy of hot pursuit. “Why is India a weakling, look at Israel it is fighting a war to defend two soldiers?”, they as…
