Launching Pixel Talk
There is a famous quote that “A picture is worth a thousand words”. Yeah, its cliched, but true.
Pictures have a way of expressing a depth of information that is difficult to capture with words alone. So, today I’m launching a photoblog - Pixel Talk.
It is not just another photoblog. It’s my take on the enivironment, people, buildings, and various other things around me.
Ok, you may ask why I am doing this?
- To share my images with others who enjoy photography
- To document my favourite snaps.
- To pass my time
- And, to provide a channel for others to comment on my images
I am a amateur digital photographer. Although I occasionally used to take photographs as a child and a teenager, I never developed a consistent interest in photography until I bought my first digital camera in 2003. I frequently took photos of everything around me, and began to realize that I enjoyed doing it.
It is great to have the opportunity to share my images with you through this photoblog! I always appreciate comments and/or constructive criticism. So, what are you waiting for, start shooting your comments!

Manpreet, I absolutely love your photoblog! what camera did you use? some talent you’ve got there!

Ankur: Yeah.. exactly!
Kaush: I use a canon a95.. nothing great.. I myself am planning to get another one for myself… possibly a DSLR…

I was looking at DSLRs too..but they are too darn expensive no? Whats the average cost in India? I am looking at this camera lately..what do you think? should I get it?

Kaush: I’m no expert on cameras. But, as far as I know, images taken by Olympus cams lack crispiness… and are not great at macro shots. Canon/Sony are better bets in my opinion. Read this review btw.

yea I spent five hours last night reading reviews and now the Olympus doesnt seem like a good idea! The new Sony DSC H7 and H9 are coming out soon..I am eyeing them now..Nikon D40 or the D40x sound like good SLRs too..but I am too amateur to buy an SLR yet..I need a nice intermediate point and shoot that has some SLR features. Let me know which ones you are looking at!

Kaush: I’m looking at Sony H7 too… not H9 though.. i don’t know whether its worth paying $80 extra just for a tilt screen..!!
H7 is closest to DSLR I guess
Then, you have Canon PowerShot Pro Series S3 IS.. Best part is that it has a 12x zoom.. and is light on pocket too…!
As for SLRs are concerned… would love to own Canon Digital Rebel XTi. But, its costly.
Nikon D40 is a good choice too… my sister has Nikon cam.. But personally, I somehow didn’t liked the look & feel of it.
For my options, do check out this list on Amazon.

So you mentioned in the Powai photo that you had about 20 days left in Mumbai..where are you going after that? Which job did you end up taking?
I have a Canon Powershot G5.. Neeraj and I love it!
Very much recommend it. Shall put up my pics so you can check out the quality.

Poonam: I’m leaving this place most probably on 24th, and will be going to Delhi… finally..!!
Manpreet / April 15th, 2007, 1:39 pm / #
Chalo that’s great! Are you shifting permanently back to Delhi? Have you found a job there?
poonam / April 16th, 2007, 6:43 pm / #
Poonam: Can’t answer this question right away. I myself donot know where I will be heading towards in the next month… but I’m sure it won’t be Mumbai!

Just came across your neat blog. Really impressed with your photos. You’ve got a good eye for photography..
I have Nikon D40X (which is basically a D40 with 10M px. This would be a great one, if it is your first experience with SLRs. The on camera buttons are similar to the normal digital cameras. Most of the advanced functions are within the menus…
Now that I have the D40x, I think D80 would have been a better choice
!!
